Kids.now
Again this year George Street is proud to be offering kids.now as an afterschool program. This program is offered at no cost because of support from such groups as State Farm, Cadillac Fairview, Coca-Cola and many more.
The kids.now is an educational leadership program which helps kids to understand and embrace diversity of all kinds and includes 8 of the 11 employability skills needed today. It helps students communicate effectively, resolve conflicts without violence, set goals, manage stress and build their self-esteem. This program does not lecture but presents kids with role models and new ideas where they learn through thought-provoking activities and exercises.
There will be a short presentation about this program on Tuesday, October 6 @ 8:45. If you think your child would be interested in attending they may contact Mrs. Russell or their homeroom teacher.
